When Passion Meets Production: Pooja Rao’s Horror-Thriller Set to Scare and Inspire

Emerging from the heart of Banshidhar Nagar in Jharkhand, actress Pooja Rao is all set to deliver a powerful cinematic experience with her upcoming feature film "The Unwanted Gift" — a bilingual thriller shot in both Hindi and English. Not only does Pooja play the lead role in the film, but she is also marking her debut as a producer, making this project a major milestone in her career. The film is slated for a New Year release, promising a thrilling start to 2026 for audiences.

Known for her versatility, Pooja has already appeared in over 500 music videos, and has left her mark in popular web series such as "Muhn Dikhai", "Band Darwaza", "Vidhwa", and "Kheench Meri Photo". Her ability to connect with audiences has earned her a strong fan base across regional and digital platforms.

Adding to her growing list of accomplishments, Pooja has recently wrapped up shooting for another Hindi film titled "Zila Greedy", in which she plays the emotionally layered role of a Pakistani girl. The film, packed with romance and drama, is expected to release its trailer soon.

Despite her glamorous screen presence today, Pooja Rao’s journey is deeply rooted in struggle and resilience. Born into a humble family, she pursued ITI education and nurtured a dream that seemed too distant — to appear on television and the silver screen. She often credits her grandparents (Dada-Dadi) for being the guiding force behind her journey. Their blessings and unwavering support, she says, gave her the courage to chase her dreams.
