MUMBAI: The Lions Club of Sion, in a joint initiative with the SLR Group of Education and sponsored by JP Classes (Sion), successfully hosted the Academic Excellence Award Ceremony 2026. The high-profile event recognized and felicitated Secondary School Certificate (SSC) students who secured 60% and above in their recent Class 10 Board Examinations.
Far from being a standard award ceremony, the event served as a grand celebration of hard work, grit, and the collaborative ecosystem of students, educators, and families.
Santosh J. Chauhan, Founder & Managing Director of JP Classes (Sion), felicitating an SSC Board topper with the Academic Excellence Award for outstanding performance in the Board Examination, in the esteemed presence of proud parents, distinguished dignitaries, and Lion Dharamraj Jadhav, Event Coordinator representing the Lions Club of Sion.
The ceremony celebrated academic excellence, dedication, and the pursuit of success among young achievers.
Honouring Parents - the Silent Pillars of Success
A core theme of the ceremony was acknowledging the parental support system that anchors student success.
Speaking at the event, Santosh J. Chauhan, Founder and Managing Director of JP Classes (Sion), highlighted the critical but often uncredited sacrifices made by families. He said “No doubt students have given their best to achieve success. However, behind every successful student stands a family that provides patience, love, encouragement, and unwavering support. Parents make countless sacrifices, appreciate their children during difficult times, and help them remain focused on their goals. This ceremony is dedicated not only to students but also to the parents who have been silent partners in their achievements.”
Mr. Chauhan further highlighted that many parents underestimate the academic transition from Class 10 to Class 11.
He added “The jump from SSC to 11th Standard is one of the most significant transitions in a student's academic life. The syllabus becomes much more advanced and concept-oriented. The level of study is comparable to national-level competitive standards and requires strong fundamentals, regular guidance, and systematic preparation.”
He urged parents to give special attention to their children's academic foundation during this crucial stage.
Education experts present at the venue echoed this sentiment that the next two years after SSC are among the most important years in a student's educational journey.
Whether a student dreams of becoming a doctor through NEET, an engineer through JEE or CET, a finance professional through CA, a corporate leader through CS, or wishes to pursue any professional career, the foundation is laid during Classes 11 and 12.
“These two years will largely determine the direction of a student's future. This is the time when concepts must become clear, study habits must become disciplined, and confidence must be built. Parents should pause for a moment and ask themselves: What is the very best I can provide for my child during these decisive years?” said Mr. Chauhan.
On 1st May 2026, students of JP Classes achieved an extraordinary milestone by creating a World Record through the collective recitation of all 108 Elements of the Periodic Table, along with their symbols, in both forward and reverse order.
The achievement demonstrated the power of memory training, concentration, systematic learning techniques, and disciplined practice. The event showcased how ordinary students can achieve extraordinary results when guided with the right methods and motivation.
The world-record performance has inspired thousands of students and parents and has become a shining example of what young minds can accomplish when academic learning is combined with memory development.
